Astronaut

An astronaut floats in space,

their air controlled by a machine.

Hoping it doesn't malfunction,

they float in the endless abyss.

Absent

Our minds are constantly flooded with corporations trying to push themselves onto us. What's stopping us from replacing these thoughts with our own?

Tålmodighet Fra en Jenter

this piece is of my late D&D character Freyja Haugen who was a Viking from a distant land. before her adventuring career, she was a well-known hunter in her homeland, maybe it was due to her tragic upbringing as an orphan, or possibly she just liked it, whatever the case is her fate was to ultimately end up being killed by a spirit who tried to posses her.

For this piece I wanted to create a sense of dread and darkness. I used a dark background to create a focal point on the light profile view of my face. As the viewer looks more they’ll notice the forest sprouting from my head as if it is a product of my consciousness. I wanted to get really dark background and shading so i used charcoal since it was better to create the dark shades and i could use a kneaded erasure to take away material to create a blurry sort of effect on the forest and edges. The idea of the portrait was to show my love for the forest as well as incorporate my depression in a way. I used the dark to portray that while I took away material to create the forest which is a place of solace for me. The forest is a place where i can be myself and not worry about the struggles of life. I like the way it turned out and I hope to make more pieces like this in the future.
